
Casino Robbery (Gilpin County)

The Central City Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred At Dostal Alley Casino on June 23, 2011. Shortly after midnight, a white man entered the casino and a few minutes after playing a slot machine, he approached the cashier's cage and demanded money. The suspect displayed a weapon during the robbery and got away with an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect has been described as a white man, 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a stocky build, weighing about 300 pounds. The suspect appeared to be wearing a dark-colored wig and fake beard. He was last seen wearing a green, hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap with some type of an emblem on it. |
The Black Hawk Police Departmental is investigating a similar incident at the Riviera Casino. On June 11 around 11:30 p.m., a woman and man in their late 50s, accompanied by a third man were parked in the garage. They were approached by a man described at 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches and weighing from 250 to 300 pounds wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap. The suspect demanded them to get out of their car and fled the scene in their 2002 silver BMW. Police recovered the stolen car on June 13 a mile away in a construction site. No victims were injured. |
